What it covers
Your portable fire extinguishers are often the first thing someone reaches for when a fire starts. They only help if they are in place, accessible and ready to work on the day it counts. We handle the full life cycle of each unit, from the monthly visual check to replacement when it is due. This service is for stores, buildings, plants, garages and any property that has to keep its extinguishers in good standing.
Why it is required
In Quebec, portable fire extinguisher servicing follows NFPA-10 (2013 edition), which is carried into the National Fire Code (NFC 2020, Division B, art. 6.2.1.1). An extinguisher that has not been verified can be flagged by an insurer or a municipal fire inspector. Worse, it can fail when you actually need it. We carry out the checks and intervals required by the applicable standard and regulation, and we keep a clear record for every unit.

Frequently asked questions
How often do my extinguishers need to be checked?
NFPA-10 calls for an inspection of each extinguisher "at intervals not exceeding 31 days" (§ 7.2.1.2) and annual maintenance with an external examination (§ 7.3.2). Depending on the unit type, an internal examination is due at 6 years (§ 7.3.6) and a hydrostatic test at 5 or 12 years (§ 8.3.1). We tell you which deadlines apply to your units.
Do you recharge units on site?
No. We take the extinguishers that need recharging back to our shop, where we recharge them to standard before putting them back in place. When needed, we provide a loaner extinguisher in the meantime so you are never left with an uncovered area.
What happens if an extinguisher fails inspection?
We log the deficiency, explain the required fix and offer recharge, repair or replacement. Everything is recorded in the Canuck360 portal with deadline tracking, so nothing slips through the cracks.
